Welcome

Who we are

We are a group of Princeton-area people who have come together to practice Buddhist insight meditation (vipassana, or mindfulness meditation) and study the Dharma.  Formed in 2005, Princeton Insight Meditation (now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization) is open to anyone interested in starting or deepening their insight meditation practice through group practice and support.

What we do

The primary activities of Princeton Insight Meditation are two weekly groups: a sitting group on Mondays (7–9pm) and a Dharma Study Group on Sundays (3–5pm). Both groups meet at Fellowship in Prayer in downtown Princeton (291 Witherspoon Street) and on Zoom. Details about both groups, including location map, can be found on the event calendar.

The sitting group is open to everyone: drop-ins are welcome. These meetings include periods of sitting and walking meditation, dharma readings, and group discussion.

The Dharma Study Group is also open to everyone. We are reading discourses from the Pali canon. Meetings include meditation, readings, and discussion. You can find more details about the curriculum on the Study Group page.

Join us!

Princeton Insight Meditation’s Sunday and Monday groups meet in-person at Fellowship in Prayer. In order to attend in person we require:

  • Full vaccination, including booster
  • No current symptoms
  • No recent contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19

We will also continue to meet on Zoom for those who are unable to join us in person. Email us at info@princetoninsightmeditation.org to get the Zoom meeting details.

Everyone is welcome to drop in and join us on Sunday afternoons and Monday nights.  No prior meditation experience is required; we can provide some basic instructions to get you started.  If you want to keep apprised of schedule changes, all-day events, and other news of the group, please sign up for our email list.  You can also e-mail us directly.
