Princeton Insight Meditation was founded in 2005 as an informal group of Buddhist insight meditation practitioners who wanted to have the support of regular group practice. Our sangha has grown over the years and the connections between our members have deepened and strengthened. We have a weekly sitting group on Mondays in Princeton, monthly workshops at Princeton Center for Yoga and Health, and quarterly day-long retreats. In 2017 we incorporated as a nonprofit in the state of New Jersey to become Princeton Insight Meditation, Inc. It is our hope that our community of practitioners will grow along with the kinds of support and opportunities for practice that we can provide.
Princeton Insight Meditation’s vision is an active, thriving community of dedicated Buddhist Insight Meditation practitioners in the Princeton area.
Princeton Insight Meditation’s mission is to promote the practice and study of Buddhist Insight Meditation (vipassana) and to support a community of practitioners in the Princeton area.
Princeton Insight Meditation has modest financial needs, primarily to maintain appropriate insurance and basic business expenses. If you would like to contribute towards our mission, you can send a check made out to “Princeton Insight Meditation, Inc.” to Martha Pratt, Treasurer, 261 Opossum Road, Skillman, NJ 08558; or you can bring it to one of our sitting group meetings. Princeton Insight Meditation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt religious, educational, and charitable nonprofit organization. All contributions are tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law.
